Tuesday’s Tip

A fast and portable, all-weather fire starter kit can be made from an empty plastic Peanut Butter jar, charcoal and a fuel bottle. We like this kit as it can vary by weather conditions (temperature and moisture), how much of each is used. Hot summer day- one charcoal brick and a few drips of lighter fluid get a fire going or 10 degrees Fahrenheit and blowing snow- half the jar of charcoal will be needed to bring the heat to ignite frozen kindling. Packs and travels nicely and cleanly; it has never let us down!
